2.2 Variables that most influence your performance

 

VARIABLES THAT MOST INFLUENCE YOUR PERFORMANCE AND WHAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON

 

➡️ The psychological variables. Just like you have physical qualities like endurance and strength, techniques, and tactics, you also have psychological qualities. The following variables listed below are all psychological qualities that for better or worse influence you performance.

  • Motivation
  • Level of activation 
  • Attention and concentration 
  • Self-confidence

 

➡️ These variables or qualities are internal/unique to an athlete, each player has their own qualities more or less developed. Despite being internal, they are highly influenced by context. For example: what is happening in the competition or the coach’s own attitude (external factor) can greatly influence the state of your psychological qualities (self-confidence, motivation,…). Although we treat them individually, they intertwine and influence each other. They are usually worked on individually or as a team (Group dynamics).
