1.1. Relaxation

RELAXATION

What Is It?

🧘🏻‍♀️ As soon as you enter the dressing room after the first half of a game, your emotions from your and team´s performance are very recent, your heart rate is high, and the result of these mixed emotions will dictate your mood.

🧘🏻‍♀️ This is why you need to realize that these 15 minutes should be used in the most efficient way possible in order to rest, recover, and get ready for the second half.

How is it done?

🧘🏻‍♀️ You have to adopt a posture in which you are comfortable, choose a posture in which you have to be tense or without the feeling of being resting and relaxed. Try to have a constant and controlled breathing rhythm, and try to leave your mind blank so what happened in the first half does not influence your moment of rest and recovery.

When is it done?

🧘🏻‍♀️ As soon as you enter the locker rooms, right after the first half, take 2-3 minutes to do what was discussed earlier above.

Why is it done?

🧘🏻‍♀️ As mentioned earlier, the most important thing to do after the first half of the game is to have the maximum recovery possible.

🧘🏻‍♀️ Lowering your heart rate, recovering your muscles being in the best possible conditions in terms of concentration and attention to receive, understand, and internalize your coach’s message about what has happened and what he needs you to do in the second half.
