COMPLEMENTARY TRAINING FOR SOCCER

INTRODUCTION

In most soccer clubs, academies or schools, you will experience the following on training days: Arriving at the facility, changing in the locker room or next to your pitch, putting on your boots and equipment, starting your activation, warming up, and beginning your training.

Throughout your football career you will have to “KNOW HOW TO LISTEN TO YOUR BODY AND KNOW WHAT IT NEEDS”. Keep in mind that NOT everything is good for everyone and some things favor or help individuals in different ways. This is called THE PRINCIPLE OF INDIVIDUALIZATION.

Complementary training will teach you how to understand and listen to your body to try to get the most out of it and “take care of it” as much as you can.

The most important thing is to know the why, meaning to understand the reason you do something and what you get out of it. Next, each performance factor will be shown and analyzed individually, following this structure.

1️⃣ What is it?

2️⃣ What is it for?

3️⃣ How and when to work it?

4️⃣ Common errors

We propose nine performance factors that you can work on during your complementary training.

This program will walk you through it with the following topics:

    • ➡️Joint Mobility
    • ➡️Proprioception
    • ➡️Running Technique
    • ➡️Preventive/Compensatory Strength
    • ➡️Inter-Muscular Coordination
    • ➡️Speed
    • ➡️Strength
    • ➡️Endurance
    • ➡️Range of motion

At the completion of this section you will carry out the corresponding task by applying all the knowledge learned. You will be able to adapt it to your weekly activities to facilitate the completion of your supplemental training.
